Yes. NetComm developers approached the Beacon HR system from the perspective that local knowledge often supercedes official knowledge. Therefore, Beacon HR includes several features that faciliate easier management of your IC's local knowledge.
For example, Beacon HR includes fields called "Official NTE date" and "Planned NTE Date" on a position's Dates tracking screen. Because many times employment terms are only granted on annual or bi-annual contracts, it is often the case that an IC will plan for a fellow or other non-GS employee to stay on board longer than any official record logs. If an IC intends to extend a fellow's contract another year, users can plug in a planned NTE date that will trump the Official NTE Date in FTE and workforce projections and calculations.
Another available feature that allows users to plan and manage their workforce more effectively is the ability to add "accession" records. Accession records are recruit positions that are either filled or unfilled. Users can plan for expected hires or expected position changes in the future, which will be used in future year FTE and on board projections.
These examples are just a few of the ways Beacon HR lets an IC manage their workforce knowledge. Many other features, like the Actions tracking module, the Supplemental information module, the Training module, and the notes function allow an IC to track and manage their local knowledge in one readily-available system.
Note that no changes in the Beacon HR system effect that data source from which they are downloaded.
